THE TRCP SUMMER SWEEPSTAKES (“SWEEPSTAKES”) BEGINS AT 12:00 AM EASTERN TIME (“ET”) ON 6/24/24 AND ENDS AT 11:59 PM ET ON 8/9/24 (“ENTRY PERIOD”).

ELIGIBILITY: Sweepstakes is open only to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia, age 18 years or older at time of entry (referred to hereafter as “you” and/or “Entrant”). Subject to all applicable federal and state and local laws and regulations. Void where prohibited by law. Employees, Board Members, and their immediate families (parents, children, spouse, siblings) of the Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnership [a.k.a. TRCP (“the Sponsor”), MeatEater, Inc. (“Prize Provider”), and their respective affiliates, subsidiaries, sales representatives and/or distributors, and all other companies involved with the development or execution of this Sweepstakes (collectively referred to “Released Parties’) and their immediate families, advertising and promotion agencies and those living in the same household of each (whether related or not) are not eligible to enter.

HOW TO ENTER: There are two methods of entry. Method #1 Online Entry With Donation: During the Sweepstakes Entry Period, visit https://www.trcp.org/sweepstakes/and follow all entry instructions to donate and enter the sweepstakes. You are automatically entered in the Sweepstakes random drawing based on donation received according to the information posted on the online entry form page located at: https://www.trcp.org/sweepstakes/. Method #2 Mail-in Entry Without Donation: Or, to enter the Sweepstakes without donating, hand print your full name, complete address, phone number and email on a postcard and mail postcard to: TRCP Summer Sweepstakes Postcard Entry, 529 14th Street NW, Suite 500, Washington, DC 20045. Postcard entries must be mailed separately, postmarked by 8/9/24 and received by 8/16/24. Each postcard entry will grant you 10 entries in the Sweepstakes random drawing.

All online entry notices posted at website apply, including but not limited to the TRCP Privacy Policy, available at https://www.trcp.org/privacy-policy/. Entries are deemed to be made by authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted at time of entry. Entry materials/data that have been tampered with or altered will be disqualified. Sponsor is not responsible for late, lost, stolen, damaged, garbled, incomplete, illegible, postage due and/or misdirected entries. No mechanical reproductions of entries accepted. All entries become Sponsor’s property and will not be returned or acknowledged. 

PRIZE AND VERIFIABLE RETAIL VALUE [“VRV”]: One Grand Prize of a MeatEater “Experience” will be awarded consisting of:  3 days/4 nights’ double occupancy accommodations for winner and one (1) eligible guest at the Cypress Cove Lodge in Venice, Louisiana, 2 days onshore and 1 day offshore guided fishing excursions, daily breakfast, lunch, dinner, as well as select beverages plus gear package worth up to $1,000 in First Lite apparel, as well as other products from MeatEater and select partners, subject to availability. Prize does not include air or ground transportation to Louisiana, gratuities, incidentals, upgrades, service charges or other expenses not specified herein with the Experience description above and are the winner’s and guest’s sole responsibility. Maximum value of all prizes: $11,800.00. Odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries received during the Entry Period. Experience will take place on October 12-16, 2024 and must be booked by September 4, 2024. Availability is subject to factors such as weather, seasonality and space availability. All prize details are at MeatEater’s sole discretion. No substitution or transfer of any prize by winner is permitted. Guest must be 18 years or older and must, in addition to the winner, complete and return a Liability and Publicity Release prior to travel. By entering in this Sweepstakes, you acknowledge and agree to MeatEater, Inc.’s terms and conditions partially (but not completely) summarized below:

Experience may be attended by MeatEater content personalities and support crew, as described in the aforementioned prize description. MeatEater, Inc. makes no guarantee regarding which MeatEater personalities and crew members will attend which Experiences, or how much interaction winner and guest will have with the MeatEater team. Winner and Guest are responsible for obtaining all applicable Federal, state, and local licenses/permits required by law prior to arrival. Experience may be subject to specific regulations or permit requirements imposed by governmental authorities or land management agencies. Winner and Guest agree to comply with any safety instructions, rules or restrictions imposed by MeatEater, Inc. or relevant authorities regarding the use of permits or access to designated areas. Winner and Guest are responsible for disclosing any relevant health conditions or medical concerns that may affect their ability to safely participate in the Experience or Services. MeatEater, Inc. reserves the right to deny participation for the Experience or any aspect thereof to Winner and his/her Guest, including removing Winner/Guest from the Experience, if they pose a risk to themselves or others due to health reasons or due to alcohol or drug consumption.

Winner and Guest acknowledge that outdoor adventure activities are subject to weather-related, equipment-related, and other risks and agrees to assume all risks associated with participation, including changes in weather conditions and their impact on the Services.

Winner and Guest agree to assume all risks associated with participation in the Services and releases MeatEater, Inc., TRCP, their employees, guides, subcontractors, and affiliates from any liability for personal injury, property damage, or other claims arising from or related to participation in the Services. It is Winner’s and Guest’s sole responsibility to obtain adequate insurance for personal injury, property damage, and other risks associated with participation in the Services.

MeatEater, Inc. reserves the right to cancel, postpone or modify the Experience in whole or in part due to factors beyond its control, including, but not limited to, inclement weather, safety concerns, permit limitations, or changes in governmental regulations. MeatEater, Inc. shall make reasonable efforts to notify Winner of any changes or cancellations as soon as practicable and may offer alternative activities or rescheduling options, subject to availability.

MeatEater, Inc. is not responsible for expenses incurred in preparation of any canceled trip, including, but not limited to, airline tickets, ground transportation, and visa fees. If any situation occurs out of the MeatEater  Inc.’s control, (e.g., weather, etc.) affects the ability for Winner and his/her Guest to redeem any portion of prize during the scheduled date and time, or any other condition of unavailability, then the Sponsor shall have no further obligations to Winner and/or Guest other than to supply the remaining elements of the prize package minus the unused portion of prize.

By participating in the Experience, you grant MeatEater, Inc. and its parents, affiliates, subsidiaries, designees, assigns, officers, directors, subcontractors, employees, agents, and representatives (collectively, the “MeatEater, Inc. Parties”) the irrevocable and unrestricted right to use and publish your image, likeness, and voice in photos, videos, and recordings captured during the event/activity/ production for any lawful purpose, including but not limited to promotional materials, advertising, social media, and website content, without compensation or further notice. You release MeatEater, Inc.  and its representatives from any claims, liabilities, or demands arising out of or related to the use of your image, likeness, or voice. You also waive any right to inspect or approve the finished product in which your image, likeness, or voice appears. This release shall be binding upon your heirs, successors, and assigns.

Winner acknowledges and agrees that MeatEater, Inc. or parties as part of the Experience may require you to sign additional waivers, releases, or similar documentation prior to participation in certain aspects of the Experience and Services. Failure to sign such documents as requested by MeatEater, Inc. may prohibit you from participating in the affected aspects of Experience. MeatEater, Inc. makes no guarantees regarding the outcome, results, or quality of the Experience or Services provided.

WINNER SELECTION and NOTIFICATION: A random drawing will be conducted on or about 8/21/24 from all eligible entries received during the Entry Period. Random drawing conducted by the Sponsor’s agent (“judges”) whose decisions are final and binding in all respects. Potential winner will be contacted immediately thereafter via email, mail and/or courier and will be required to complete an Affidavit of Eligibility and Release of Liability which must be signed and returned (along with any other documentation the Sponsor reasonably requires for prize fulfillment, such as, but not limited to, providing proof of identity) and W-9 Form within seven (7) days of date printed on notification or the potential winner will be disqualified and an alternate winner will be determined. If potential winner fails to respond within 7 days, or if notification is returned as undeliverable, that potential winner will be disqualified, and if time permits an alternate will be determined. Prizes will be awarded within approximately 30 days of each winner’s verification. At Sponsor’s discretion, if after 5 attempts a winner is not confirmed, prize will not be awarded. All federal, state, local and income taxes or other expenses relating to the use, misuse, acceptance and possession of prize are the Winner’s sole responsibility. An IRS 1099 Form will be filed in the Winner’s name for the value of prize won.

GENERAL: By participating in the Sweepstakes, each Entrant (i) agrees to be bound by these Official Rules, including all eligibility requirements, and (ii) agree to be bound by the decisions of Sponsor and the judges, which are final and binding in all matters relating to the Sweepstakes. Except where prohibited by law, entry and acceptance of prize constitute permission to use winner’s name, photograph, hometown, likeness, and prize won (all at Sponsor’s discretion) for future advertising, publicity in any and all media now or hereafter devised throughout the world in perpetuity, without additional compensation, notification, release, or permission. Sponsor is not responsible for any typographical or other error in the printing of the offer, administration of the Sweepstakes or in the announcement of prize or for any suspension of the Sweepstakes or inability to implement the Sweepstakes or award the prize as contemplated herein due to any event beyond its control, including delays or interruptions caused by acts of God, acts of war, natural disasters, weather, utility outages, acts of terrorism or any federal, state, or local government law, order, or regulation, order of any court or regulator. Sponsor reserves the right to take action to: (i) permanently disqualify from any sweepstakes it sponsors any person it believes has intentionally violated these Official Rules; (ii) suspend the collection of entries if the Sweepstakes becomes unfairly impaired in any way and to select winners from among all eligible entries received prior to such action. This Sweepstakes shall be governed by and interpreted under the laws of the State of New York, U.S.A. without regard to its conflicts of laws provisions. Any and all disputes, claims, and causes of action arising out of or in connection with this Sweepstakes, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action. ANY CLAIMS, JUDGMENTS AND/OR AWARDS SHALL BE LIMITED TO ACTUAL OUT-OF-POCKET COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH ENTERING THIS SWEEPSTAKES. ENTRANT HEREBY WAIVES ANY RIGHTS OR CLAIMS TO ATTORNEY’S FEES, INDIRECT, SPECIAL, PUNITIVE, INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OF ENTRANT, WHETHER FORESEEABLE OR NOT and WHETHER BASED ON NEGLIGENCE OR OTHERWISE. LEGAL WARNING: ANY ATTEMPT BY AN INDIVIDUAL, WHETHER OR NOT AN ENTRANT, TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE, DESTROY, TAMPER WITH OR VANDALIZE OR INTERFERE WITH THE OPERATION OF THE SWEEPSTAKES, IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL and CIVIL LAWS and SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES and DILIGENTLY PURSUE ALL REMEDIES and CRIMINAL PROSECUTION AGAINST ANY SUCH INDIVIDUAL TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

RELEASE: Entrants on their behalf, and on behalf of their respective heirs, executors, administrators, legal representatives, successors and assigns (“Releasing Parties”), release, defend and hold harmless Sponsor, any entity involved in the fulfillment of the prizes or the administration of the Sweepstakes, and their respective employees, officers, directors and agents of each (“Released Parties”), from any and all actions, causes of action, suits, debts, dues, sums of money, accounts, reckonings, bonds, bills, specialties, covenants, contracts, controversies, agreements, promises, variances, trespasses, lost profits, indirect or direct damages, consequential damages, incidental damages, punitive or exemplary damages, judgments, extent, executions, claims and demands whatsoever, in law, admiralty or equity, whether known or unknown, foreseen or unforeseen, against Released Parties which any one or more of the Releasing Parties ever had, now have or hereafter can, shall or may have which in any way arise out of or result from entrant’s participation, acceptance and use or misuse of any prize won, including property damage, personal injury or death.

By participating in this Sweepstakes, each entrant expressively waives and relinquishes all rights and benefits afforded by California Civil Code 1542 and does so understanding and acknowledging the significance of this waiver. Section 1542 states as follows: “A GENERAL RELEASE DOES NOT EXTEND TO CLAIMS THAT THE CREDITOR OR RELEASING PARTY DID NOT KNOW OR SUSPECT TO EXIST IN HIS OR HER FAVOR AT THE TIME OF EXECUTING THE RELEASE AND THAT, IF KNOWN, BY HIM OR HER, WOULD HAVE MATERIALLY AFFECTED HIS OR HER SETTLEMENT WITH THE DEBTOR OR THE RELEASED PARTIES.”

PRIVACY: By entering, the information entrants provide may be shared with promotional partners identified in this promotion as well as other select business partners to provide entrants with offers that may be of interest. NOTICE TO ONLINE ENTRANTS: In the event of a dispute over the identity of an online entrant, entry will be deemed submitted by the “Authorized Account Holder” of the email address submitted at time of entry. Authorized Account Holder means the natural person who is assigned to an email address by an Internet access provider, online service provider, or other organization that is responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the submitted email address. Entry materials/data that have been tampered with or altered, or mass entries or entries generated by a script, macro or use of automated devices are void. The Sponsor is not responsible for: (i) error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operations or transmission, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to or alterations of entry materials, or for technical, network, telephone equipment, electronic, computer, hardware or software malfunctions of any kind, or inaccurate transmission of or failure to receive entry information by Sponsor on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website or any combination thereof; or (ii) any injury or damage to entrant’s or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from participating in the Sweepstakes. Failure to comply with these official rules may result in disqualification from the Sweepstakes.

Legal Warning: ANY ATTEMPT BY AN individual, whether or not an ENTRANT, TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE, destroy, tamper WITH or vandalize this WEBSITE OR interfere with the OPERATION OF THE SWEEPSTAKES, IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS and SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES and diligently pursue all remedies AND CRIMINAL PROSECUTION against ANY SUCH individual TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
