Testified Before Congress

Three members of the TRCP staff represented sportsmen and women on Capitol Hill, urging Congress to improve access to public lands, pass five priority pieces of legislation that would invest in fish and wildlife habitat, create drought solutions while enhancing conditions for fish in the Colorado River Basin, and step up in the fight against CWD, especially by giving states the resources they need to track and fight the disease in the wild.

Held 1st Hispanic Summit

TRCP partnered with the Hispanic Access Foundation and Nuestra Tierra Conservation Project to host the summit, share stories, collaborate on conservation goals, and–of course–flyfish in Taos, New Mexico.

Prevented disposal of public land

The TRCP also pushed federal land management agencies to identify inaccessible public lands and develop a plan to increase access to them. Combined with our work to study the scope of the landlocked public lands problem and secure our best tool for opening these lands, the TRCP is advancing bipartisan solutions that can actually get more sportsmen and women out there.

Cracked down on overfishing of menhaden

After a foreign-owned industrial fishing company willingly exceeded its harvest quota in Chesapeake Bay, the TRCP, tens of thousands of recreational anglers, dozens of businesses, and nine East Coast state governors requested that the Secretary of Commerce take action to hold the company accountable.
