Alex Maggos joined TRCP as the director of agriculture and private lands in January 2018. Previously, he worked for a public affairs firm, where he managed national advocacy campaigns and lobbied on behalf of private companies and associations.
Maggos also spent more than seven years on Capitol Hill and working with competitive political campaigns. He served as deputy chief of staff for United States Senator Mark Kirk (R-Ill.), advising on the development and passage of legislation and media messaging, especially related to rural Illinois and federal appropriations. He was also director of operations on Senator Kirk’s 2016 re-election campaign and campaign manager for Rep. Jo Ann Emerson (R-Mo.)
A native of Alton, Illinois, Maggos is an avid archery hunter and fisherman. He earned his Bachelor’s degree from Southeast Missouri State University and served two seasons as a wildland firefighter with the Bureau of Land Management in Central Utah.
