Mia Sheppard is a fly fishing guide, spey casting champion, chukar hunter, and conservationist from northwest Oregon. Growing up in Tennessee, Mia was introduced to the outdoors at an early age and spent most weekends chasing trout, camping, and hiking the beautiful Great Smoky Mountains. Fly fishing caught her attention in 1996, and in 2001 Marty Sheppard (her husband and rod caddy) introduced her to spey casting and steelheading. In 2003, they purchased their year-round guide service, Little Creek Outfitters. All told, she has spent endless hours standing in rivers, rowing boats, and working to conserve the public lands and waters she loves, while sharing these experiences with her beautiful daughter.
Mia also dedicates her time to support the Native Fish Society, Casting for Recovery, Deschutes River Alliance, and Trout Unlimited. She also serves on the International Women Fly Fishers Conservation Committee.
