Small Game is a Big Deal to Hunters

Steven Rinella discusses how first time hunters have to deal with a lack of public access in "TRCP's Conservation Field Notes." .

Many of our first hunting experiences included following squirrels from tree to tree, or chasing rabbits out of briar patches.  Small game hunting has a special place in the hearts of hunters and is the perfect platform from which to introduce people to hunting, ethics and the outdoors.

Join Steven Rinella of the hit TV show “MeatEater” as he discusses how aspiring first time hunters have to deal with fences, no trespassing signs and fees that their parents and grandparents never encountered.

Thanks to the leadership of many in the sportsmen’s community, the Voluntary Public Access and Habitat Incentive Program exists to help stem the tide of loss of recreational access to private lands, but like so many other initiatives important to sportsmen, the VPA-HIP has been short-changed by Congress.

Watch “TRCP’s Conservation Field Notes” to learn more and find out how you can help.

Be sure to tune in this Sunday at 9 p.m. E/P on the Sportsman Channel to catch the latest episode of “MeatEater.”
