
The TRCP believes responsible development can be achieved when conservation, restoration and mitigation sciences and traditional social uses are fully integrated into development activities. The goal of the sportsmens value mapping project was to identify which areas were prized by hunters and anglers across the state of Montana. A growing base of scientific information shows that climate change is real and sportsmen likely will be the first to experience its repercussions as declining populations of game species result in shortened seasons and fewer hunting permits. How we address the challenges of climate change now will dictate whether future generations will continue to enjoy our time-honored sporting traditions.
